CHASON
The Chason Group, Inc. was formed in August
of 2003. Tim Chason, president of the company, is a consultant specializing
in executive level searches, public relations planning, marketing
programs, building successful operating structures, professional
staff assessments, strategic visioning plans and coordinating relationship
building strategies for companies and non-profit organizations.
Tim is a professional and polished business executive with twenty-two
years of progressive experience at local and state levels. Areas
of expertise include leadership, operations, strategic visioning,
economic development, community relations, governmental affairs,
grassroots consensus building, communications, volunteer development
and staff development. He has worked with key business and government
leaders throughout the state of Georgia to promote a better economic
environment for business.
Tim’s professional career began in 1983 when he was selected
to serve as the President of the Cartersville-Bartow County Chamber
of Commerce in Cartersville, Georgia. It was during his tenure at
the local chamber level that he became actively involved in the
recruitment of several companies to locate in the area, including
Anheuser-Busch, Lever Brothers and a major expansion of Shaw Industries.
Tim also worked with community, civic, government and education
leaders on the local, state, national and international levels to
build a brand for the Cartersville community and strategically plan
for the future growth of the area.
In 1993, Tim was selected to join the Georgia Chamber of Commerce
team as Senior Vice President of Economic Development. His initial
duties included management and leadership for the Red Carpet Tour
of Georgia and Fall Feather Hunt, as well as working with existing
industries within the state on pro-business legislation.
In 1996, Tim was appointed Chief Operating Officer for the Georgia
Chamber, a position he held until starting his own company in mid-2003.
His key responsibilities within the organization were to provide
management, motivation and leadership to a staff of over 25 professionals.
Tim’s vast knowledge of and access to a network of leaders
in the southeast have increased his ability to add value to companies
and non-profit organizations seeking to improve their corporate
communications, visibility and brand.
As an elected member of the Cartersville City School Board and a
former member of the Board of Advisors for North Metro Technical
College in Acworth, Georgia, Tim clearly understands the role of
education in economic development. He is also a graduate of Leadership
Georgia, Class of 1991 and past chair of the Georgia Association
of Chamber of Commerce Executives Association.
Tim was born in Lakeland, a small town in South Georgia, in 1959.
He attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) in Tifton,
Georgia, where he served as Editor of The Stallion, the college
newspaper. In 2003, he was presented the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural
College Outstanding Business Leader Award.
Following ABAC, Tim chose the University of Georgia as his alma
mater. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism degree
in 1982 and a Master of Public Administration degree in 1984.
Tim’s family is extremely important to him. His wife is the
former Lynne Jonas of Brunswick, Georgia. Tim and Lynne’s
