Catalyst for Industry and Community Economic Development and Talent Pipeline Strategic Planning
Mark Lytle has more than 40 years of combined industry and economic development experience building relationships at global, state and company levels. While at the Georgia Department of Economic Development served in various economic roles including Sr. Project Manager, Leader of the Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia Supplier Initiative, Director of International Investment/ Global Business Recruiting, and Program Director of the Georgia Centers of innovation.
In 2013 Mark joined the Board of Regents-University System of Georgia (USG). Serving as the Vice Chancellor for Economic Development, he led the USG’s system wide initiatives in enhancing business and community access to the resources of the system. He also led the USG’s efforts supporting the Governor’s High Demand Career Initiative, catalyzed the USG’s Cyber Security Initiative and supported the creation of innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems in several Georgia communities with USG institutions.
Just prior to his recent retirement from the USG, Mark also served as the High Demand Career Industry Liaison, collaborating closely with “C level” industry executives, helping them prioritize their critical talent needs and leverage the assets of the USG in developing industry specialized programs, curriculum and professional education to meet the burgeoning talent pipeline requirements for Georgia’s Financial Technology and Cyber Security industries.
Mark serves on the board of Fin Tech Atlanta, the IgniteHQ (a business incubator accelerator) and was recognized with the 2016 Transaction Alley Citizen Award by the American Transaction Processors Coalition.
Mark is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and a member of the Georgia Economic Developers Association.
